Florence and The Machines

Florence + The Machine announces more Irish dates

London pop rock outfit Florence + the Machine burst onto the scene in 2009 with their debut album Lungs which quickly became one of the biggest-selling albums of the year with songs like ‘Kiss with a Fist’, ‘Dog Days Are Over’, and others proving incredibly popular in the UK and US charts.

The following year, the band were back in the studio working on their sophomore record Ceremonials which was released in 2011. The album featured a number of chart-topping singles including ‘Shake It Out’, ‘No Light, No Light’, and ‘Never Let Me Go’.

In 2012, lead singer Florence Welch announced that the band would be taking some time away to work on their next record while Welch also released solo efforts with Calvin Harris in the hit single ‘Sweet Nothing’.

The group’s third album arrived in 2015 and went on to be nominated for five Grammy Awards, and was a No.1 album in the UK, Australia, the US and across Europe. High as Hope was the fourth full-length release in 2018 which saw the band yet again enjoy chart success thanks to appearances in TV series like Game of Thrones.

Florence + the Machine released the charity single ‘Light of Love’ in 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic with all proceeds going to Britain’s Intensive Care Society. In May 2022, the band released their eagerly-anticipated fifth studio album Dance Fever.
