Getting Around Dublin

Dublin is an easy city to navigate by bus, luas and train which will save you a lot of money on taxis.  You can pick up a Leap card at most service stations or online. You can get any money you have left returned at the end of your trip.

Day One

Morning: Following a delicious breakfast in The Cellar why not stroll around the area and get to know the city. Small local cafes and coffee shops can be found on nearly every street. Just 5 minutes from the hotel, lies EPIC, The Irish Emigration Museum. You also have the choice of multiple shopping districts including Grafton Street and Henry Street, both are filled with well known brands. Near Henry Street, some landmarks such as The Dublin Portal, The Spire and The GPO can all be found on O’Connell Street. Many bus and walking tour can be found on this famous street, why not book one HERE!

Afternoon: The red luas line is located along O’Connoll Street (the busaras stop is right outside the hotel), why not hop on for a few stops to get to the Guinness Storehouse. This is one of the most famous distillery tours and museums in the world, located in Dublin 8. Take a picture with the infamous Saint James’s Gate, the tour is ticketed but we really recommend this immersive experience as you can access The Gravity Bar to see a 360 degree view of Dublin City. After you might stroll back toward the main city area and have some lunch.

Some lunch spots include: Proof Urban Italian, Catherine’s Cafe & Bakery, Mannings Bakery, Masa

Evening: You could make your way back to the hotel and dine at NORTH here at The Address Connolly for an unforgettable night of food and drinks. NORTH delivers a casual, diverse and relaxed dining environment serving international cuisine with an extensive cocktail list, craft beers and specially selected wines. After unwinding, why not head to the famous Temple Bar area just 15 minutes on foot from the hotel. Here you can experience Dublin’s vibrant nightlife, while enjoying traditional Irish music, lively pubs and a wide selection of bars.

Day Two

Morning: Following a delicious breakfast in The Cellar why not get on the DART, across the road at Connolly Station, to Howth a small vibrant costal town only 25 minutes away. Here you can explore beautiful trails and cliff walks, along with harbour walks toward the Howth Lighthouse. Boat tours around the local islands and areas can also be found in the harbour, this must be booked in advance of arrival. Howth Golf Club is perfect for all golf lovers with ocean views and a unique course. Howth Castle can also be found on the grounds which dates back to 1177.

Some local cafes include: POG, Rosie’s Cafe, Bodega Coffee

If you are a seafood lover Howth is the perfect place to enjoy some proper Irish Seafood, our traditional fish and chips dishes are famous!  All food is fresh and caught in the area, don’t worry if you don’t enjoy seafood other options will be available. Local ice cream shops also offer fresh unique treats, if you are in the mood for a sweet treat. After this why not head back into the city, on the DART.

Some lunch spots in Howth: Octopussy’s Seafood, The Pier House, The Abbey Tavern, Mamó
